Your Quick-Start Path

Not sure where to begin? We've got you!

Follow these five simple steps to confidently start your math learning journey at home.

1. Find Their Starting Point

Determine your child's current math level: either current grade, previous grade for foundational gaps, or through an assessment conversation.

Focus on where they truly are, not where you think they "should" be.

3. Get One Relevant Book

Source a single book related to your chosen concept.

Libraries, online stores, or digital apps are great resources. Just one book is enough to start; you can expand later.

2. Pick One Core Concept

Avoid overwhelm by focusing on just one concept.

Choose based on curriculum sequence, your child's curiosity, a topic they're learning in school, or an area where they need extra support.

4. Try One Engaging Activity

Select one activity that uses materials you already have, matches your child's interest, fits your available time, and sounds fun to you.

Enthusiasm is contagious!

5. Notice What Happens

After a few tries, observe: Is your child engaged? Confused? Are you both having fun? Is it too easy, too hard, or just right? Adjust based on these crucial insights.

Permission to Start Imperfectly:

You don't need all the books, materials, or a perfect schedule.

You just need

  • One concept, one book OR one activity,

  • Curiosity, and

  • Grace for yourself and your child.
